On May 24 th , 2006 Cora McAbee and Brandon Howell were murdered while they slept inside her residence located in the 3500 block of Private Road 2174. It has been confirmed that Cora and Brandon were in a relationship and had been for several months leading up to the night of their murders. Over the past 13 years the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating this case and following up on leads as they have come in but nothing of evidentiary value was located and no one has come forward with information pertinent to the case.
