Hunt County Sheriffs Office Searching For Machete Man

Hunt County Sheriffs Department released this statement after an overnight manhunt.

On August 8th, 2019 at approximately 7:20 p.m. the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an assault in the 2700 block of SH 69 South.

Additional information provided was that the suspect had assaulted a person with a large knife, possibly a machete and the victim was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle. Deputies were informed that the suspect was hiding in the area and was armed with the large knife and possibly an assault rifle. The suspect was identified as Charles Trent Parrish, 43 years of age from the Greenville area.

The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was mobilized and assistance was requested from outside agencies to assist in the search for Mr. Parrish in and around his residence. Mr. Parrish eluded capture and is currently at large and a Felony Warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon has been issued for his arrest.

The victim was treated at a local hospital and his condition is not known at this time.

Sheriff Meeks stated: “This search went well into the early morning hours and I greatly appreciate all the agency’s that assisted us. Mr. Parrish is a very dangerous person and we are asking anyone with information to contact us or Crime Stoppers at 903-457-2929”.
