
On August 28th, 2019 at approximately 7:30 p.m. the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a Missing Person in the 4100 block of County Road 4111, Campbell Texas. Deputies were informed that Clarence Warren, 74 years of age, had left the residence on foot and they were not able to locate him or contact him by cell phone.
On August 29th, 2019 Lt. Roger Seals with the Criminal Investigation Division notified the Northeast Texas Child Abduction Response Team (CART) and the East Texas Regional Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for assistance. Both groups responded and a large scale search was conducted in the area that Mr. Warren was last seen by family. This search covered over 100 acres and consisted of over 100 volunteers trained in search and rescue as well as drones, ATV’s, Mounted Unit, and K-9 teams.
Mark 9 Search and Rescue K9 team located Mr. Warren several hours into the search. Unfortunately, Mr. Warren was deceased at the time he was located.
Sheriff Randy Meeks and the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office want to thank the Northeast Texas Child Abduction Response Team (CART), East Texas Regional Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Lone Star Search and Rescue, MARK9 k-9 teams, the Texas Department Criminal Justice K-9 Unit, Royse City Police Department, Constable Terry Jones, the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office Posse, and the Campbell Volunteer Fire Department for all of their expertise and assistance in the search effort. The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office also wishes to thank Dallas Millwork Company in Campbell for providing space for a staging area.
Sheriff Randy Meeks stated: “This is not the outcome that we hoped for and our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Warren’s family for their loss. I personally want to thank everyone that assisted in the search and for not giving up. The CART team and CERT team provide resources and manpower that are not available to us on a daily basis and their response was incredible”.
