Overnight Stabbing In West Tawakoni Sends One To Hospital

On September 11, 2019 at approximately 9:00 p.m. the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 200 block of Indian Trail in West Tawakoni for a report of a disturbance with weapons.

Upon officers arrival they observed through the window of an RV what appeared to be a male subject possibly stabbing a mattress. The subject, who was later identified as Bobby Coker an 85 year old male from Greenville Texas, exited the RV without incident armed with two knives in his hands which he quickly surrendered. Deputies made entry into the RV to determine if there was any victims inside at which time they located one male subject in need of medical attention. AMR transported the victim to the hospital for his injuries and his condition is not known as of this press release.

Mr. Coker was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and his bond is currently set at $100,000.

Sheriff Meeks stated: “I want to thank the Quinlan and Hawk Cover Police Departments for their assistance in responding to this call and the subsequent investigation. The quick response of all the agency’s involved may have saved the life of the victim and I commend how all law enforcement personnel worked together in this instance.”
