On November 22, 2020, at approximately 9:19 p.m., a Dallas police officer was driving a fully marked squad car with its emergency lights and siren southbound in the 15300 block of Montfort Drive approaching Arapaho Road.
The squad car entered the intersection on a red light when the vehicle was struck by a 41-year-old driver of a gray 2015 Kia K900, who was traveling eastbound in the 5300 block of Arapaho Road approaching Montfort Drive.
The female driver had 3 children inside her vehicle. The officer was transported to an area hospital for precautionary reasons. The driver of the Kia was also transported to an area hospital for precautionary reasons.
The three children, ages 11, 3, and 1, were not transported and were picked up by a family member.
