Dallas Police Say An Intoxicated Driver Ran A Stop Sign Hitting A Vehicle Killing A 10 Year Old Passenger Monday Morning

Dallas, Texas- Dallas Police are investigating a fatality accident that killed a 10 year old in the Oak Cliff area Monday Morning.

Just before 7:30am Monday morning Dallas Fire Rescue and Police were called to the intersection of East Missouri Avenue and Maryland Avenue after reports of a 2 vehicle collision.

Officials state a vehicle traveling Eastbound on Missouri Avenue was hit by a driver who ran a stop sign. The vehicle that was hit, which had four passengers, an adult male driver along with three children, ages 10, 11 and 13. All passengers of the sedan sustained injuries. Dallas Fire & Rescue transported all to a local hospital, where the 10 year old child was pronounced deceased.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle that ran the stop sign, was driving while intoxicated. The 47 year old driver is being investigated for 3 counts of intoxicated assault, and 1 count of Intoxication Manslaughter.
