On December 19, 2020, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at 3410 Fordham Road, the Bonita Gardens Apartments. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, James Labrew, a 23-year-old male, with gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire and Rescue arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The suspect, Xzavien Ausborne, a 23-year-old Black male, was detained at the scene and later interviewed by detectives with the Homicide Unit. He admitted to shooting the victim after a fight and was subsequently transported to Lew Sterrett Jail and charged with murder, a felony of the first degree.
His bond will be set by a Dallas County Magistrate.
