Early Friday morning around 10AM , Merit Fire, Celeste Fire & Farmersville Fire units responded to the area of Lake Avenue in Merit for a reported structure fire.
Hunt County EMS responded to the scene, as there were reports of 1 or 2 subjects still inside of the home.
Fire units arrived on scene advising a single story home with fire coming thru the roof.
Caddo Mills Fire, Blue Ridge Fire & Commerce E-Corps units were called to the scene, as the fire was bumped up to a 2nd alarm fire.
Unknown on exact details, but we can confirm the occupants of the home didn’t make it out, passing away from their injuries.
