Subject Dies In A Wrong Way Accident Early Saturday Morning

Hunt County units respond to reports of a head on collision, on I-30 Westbound early Saturday morning.

Upon arrival units discovered a wrong way driver that was traveling Eastbound in the Westbound lanes of interstate 30, near mile marker 96, struck a 18 wheeler head on. The 18 wheeler was engulfed in flames.

We have been able to confirm that the wrong way driver was unable to escape the wreckage, passing away from their Injuries.

Traffic was backed up from Greenville to the Cumby area for Approximately 6 or more hours. During the back up, another 18 wheeler accident occurred on I-30 at the 97 mile marker, causing more of a delay.

As of 2:50 PM both accidents have been cleared, and the roadway has been reopened with traffic back up and rolling.

No names have been released in the single fatality, we will update as we learn more.
