On Tuesday October 19, 2021 the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office was notified by an employee of Campbell Independent School District that they had witnessed missing juvenile Derek Young on the railroad tracks by the school. Hunt County Investigators and Sheriff Jones immediately went to the location and made contact with the juvenile identified as Derek Young. Derek Young was reported missing on October 11, 2021.
Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones would like to thank the family, citizens and community for their help in the search. Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones would also like to say thank you to his investigator who spent numerous hours on the streets knocking on doors, talking to people and following every lead that was presented to them.
