Hunt County Sheriff’s Office along with DPS respond to a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 34 early Wednesday Morning involving a stolen vehicle.
At approximately 6:50 a.m. Wednesday morning a Black Volkswagen Jetta was traveling northbound on State Highway 34, along with a Dodge minivan, which was traveling the same direction.
Preliminary investigation indicates, for an unknown reason the Black Jetta made an unsafe lane change striking the Dodge minivan sending it spinning into southbound traffic. The van then struck a southbound 18-wheeler, bringing traffic to a stop.
Hunt County Sheriff’s Office scanner traffic indicates that the Black Volkswagen Jetta was stolen minutes before this accident occurred. Minutes after the accident, a caller called into Hunt County Dispatch advising her 2014 Black Jetta was just stolen. When Deputies arrived on scene of the accident, running license plates revealed that this was in fact the vehicle that was stolen.
Reports from followers are the subject who stole the vehicle took off on foot, after the accident. No injuries were involved in this accident. We have not not been able to confirm with Hunt County Sheriff’s Office if anyone was taken into custody on this incident. This is an ongoing investigation, we will update as we learn more..
