Hunt County man learns Karma is a “you know what”

On Tuesday of this week we shared a story on a subject who had their phone picked up (stolen) from Greenville Wal-Mart after checking out.

Tuesday, Hunt County Theft Reports learned of a Local Business Owner who had accidentally left his phone at the Greenville Wal-Mart. We all know this is easy to do now days, having to check yourself out, bag your items etc… It’s happened to the best of us. Most of the time a good citizen will turn it over to the service desk and no problem, Right?

Well this day was different, Alan, owner of Texas Alarm Pros states he made it home realizing he left his phone at the store. He tracks the phone and the phone pinged at the Greenville Wal-Mart. Alan made his way back over to the store finding that the phone was gone, when tracking the phone again, he realized the phone had grown legs and was pinging at a residence off of Hayter Street, just South of Greenville. Alan drove over to the home where the phone was pinging, knocking on the door, making contact with a male subject, later identified as Brandon Lee Morris. When asking about the phone in a recorded video seen below, Morris stated “he had found a bag of phones and wasn’t sure if Alan’s was in it.” Let’s just say Alan’s phone was never recovered.

After filing a report, authorities went over to Morris’s residence to question him about the situation, after deputies ran the subjects name through the state database, he was found to have a outstanding warrant for PV / BURGLARY OF HABITATION. Morris was taken into custody & was booked into the Hunt County Detention Center.

As of now the phone has not been recovered. A large bag of phones was turned over to deputies by Morris.

Never forget Karma works in weird ways. If you find something that isn’t yours, do the right thing!

All Subjects Are Innocent Until Proven Guilty.
