Suspicious Package With Wires Coming Out Of It Being Investigated At Quinlan McDonalds

Quinlan Police Department and Hunt County Sheriff’s Office have several officers in the area of the McDonalds in Quinlan for a caller advising there is a suspicious package in the lobby of the McDonalds with wires coming off of it.

Cash Fire units have responded to the location to assist in traffic control. Highway 34 will be shutdown in this area at this time. 10:21PM

There will be a staging area in the Quinlan Wal-Mart parking lot for law enforcement officers.

Sheriff Terry Jones has requested the on call CID Deputy to respond to the scene to assist @ 11:08PM

Garland Bomb Squad has made scene and is currently checking out the device 11:35PM

Highway 34 has been opened back up as of 12:00AM. Please avoid area as there will still be a heavy police presence. We can confirm the device has been secured, and area is safe.

    Why does it take OVER an hour to have bomb-squad investigate on-site ? ?
    We have had similar, with 17 mins from Notification start to investigation start.
