Early Morning Rockwall Pursuit Ends Abruptly When Suspect Turns Weapon On Themselves

Scanner traffic suggest an early morning pursuit out of Rockwall County came through Hunt County, ending in Hopkins County, when the suspect turned a weapon on themselves.

Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office along with Fate Police Department got into a pursuit on Interstate 30 Eastbound early Wednesday morning with a vehicle that led officers all the way to Hopkins County before the chase came to a stop when the suspect reportedly shot themselves.

The pursuit reached speeds over 115MPH at times. The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office joined in on the pursuit around the 95 mile marker of Interstate 30. Scanner traffic suggest the vehicle led officers to the 120 mile marker of I-30EB. Officers advised the vehicle at some point stopped, and crossed over onto the South service road, with the vehicle coming to a stop.

After further investigation the suspect was found inside the vehicle with a self inflicted gunshot wound. We have gotten reports that the suspect passed away from their injuries.

All information was gathered through scanner traffic. We are still awaiting a press release from Fate Police Department. We will update as we learn more.
