One Suspect In Custody After A Tuesday Afternoon Pursuit In Hunt County Ends In A Wreck

Texas DPS Officers got into a pursuit Tuesday afternoon, ending when the vehicle hit a pipe fence, and 1 suspect was taken into custody.

Texas DPS stated in a press release that at approximately 3:30 p.m. Highway Patrol Troopers were notified of a suspect conducting possible illegal activity in a Red Ford passenger vehicle.

As Troopers approached the vehicle, the suspect made the driver move to the passenger seat, got in the driver’s seat, and fled the parking lot traveling south on U.S. 69. Per scanner traffic, Troopers requested assistance from Hunt County Sheriff’s Office when the pursuit was on FM 1654.

The suspect ultimately crashed in a private drive striking a fence pole just before the U.S. 69 and F.M. 1564 intersection.

The suspect was arrested without incident and booked into Hunt County Jail, with charges ranging from Evading arrest, unlawful possession of a firearm, to Unlawful restraint.

Hunt County EMS, Lone Oak Fire & Cash Rescue made the scene to check out the suspect involved in the pursuit, no injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
