Tuesday afternoon DPS officers got into a short chase on Interstate 30 Westbound with a vehicle refusing to pull over on a traffic stop.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for speed at IH 30 and mile marker 92. Preliminary investigation indicates that a Jeep Commander was traveling West on IH 30 at a high rate of speed. As Trooper’s attempted to stop the vehicle the driver failed to stop
The driver, identified from book in reports as Eliezer Morales-Villatoro eventually came to a stop on the I-30 service road near mile marker 87. When Troopers pulled the driver out they realized he had ate some kind of narcotics during the short pursuit. Hunt County EMS was called to the scene to transport the suspect to the hospital. Morales-Villatoro was later booked into the Hunt County Detention Center.
The passenger was also arrested for having illegal narcotics in the vehicle and booked into Hunt County jail without incident.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available.
