Subject Arrested In Road Rage Incident After Shooting At Another Vehicle

On Sunday, March 20th, at approximately 6:50pm, Rockwall PD Communications received a 911 call regarding a reckless driver who had pointed a gun at another motorist and fired several shots.

.The incident occurred on Westbound IH 30 near John King Boulevard and several minutes later, officers located the suspect vehicle. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted at Dalrock Road and IH 30 and the suspect was taken into custody.

During the investigation, it was determined the suspect’s wife and two children were in the vehicle with him when he became angry with another motorist who was trying to merge onto the highway. A handgun was located inside the suspect’s vehicle as well.

35-year-old Broderick Hicks of Lewisville, TX was booked into the Rockwall County Detention Center for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of Marijuana under 2 Ounces, and two counts of Endangering a Child.
