Shortly after midnight on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, a Rockwall Police officer responded to Rockwall Dodge located in the 900 Block of IH 30 in reference to two males dressed in dark clothing acting suspiciously in the parking lot at the closed business.
As officers arrived, the two subjects fled the location and jumped the fence into the Mission Apartments. With assistance from Fate DPS, Rockwall County S.O., and air support from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a perimeter was set up and one subject was stopped as he left the parking lot in a vehicle. The second subject was quickly apprehended hiding behind an air conditioning unit in the apartment complex. Inside a backpack located in the getaway vehicle was a handgun as well as evidence that led officers to believe their intent was to steal vehicles from the lot.
The two arrested are identified as 27-year-old Dedrick Edwards who was charged with Criminal Mischief and Evading Arrest and 32-year-old Terrence Morgan who was charged with Criminal Mischief and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.
