Just before 4:00 p.m. on April 26th, Rockwall County deputies were advised that officers from another law enforcement agency had just been involved in a pursuit with a stolen vehicle on eastbound Interstate 30, but that the involved agency was no longer engaged with the suspect vehicle.
A Rockwall County deputy observed the stolen vehicle pass him at a high rate of speed on eastbound Interstate 30 in Rockwall. As the deputy attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, the driver began evading. The suspect was cutting other vehicles off and driving on and off the highway by crossing the median.

The suspect exited the Interstate, drove south on FM 2642, onto FM 35, and continued south into Hunt County. Rockwall County Deputies were assisted by Fate DPS, Texas DPS ground and aircraft units, Hunt County deputies, and other area agencies. The vehicle finally crashed into another motorist near SH 276 and a private road in Hunt County. The wrecked stolen vehicle continued for another mile before coming to a stop. All three occupants fled on foot into the woods. Two were quickly apprehended, and one was apprehended after an extensive manhunt involving ground, air, and K-9 units.
