On Tuesday, May 24th, 2022 just after 5:00pm, officers with the Rockwall Police Department responded to reports of a major accident on State Highway 276 just east of Rochelle Road. Deputies from the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene first and quickly learned that one driver was deceased.
Once the scene was stabilized, it was determined that a collision had occurred between an 18-wheeler towing a trailer, a sport utility vehicle, and a passenger car. One patient from the SUV was flown by air ambulance to an area hospital and the driver of the 18- wheeler was transported by ground ambulance to be treated for minor injuries. The driver of the passenger car, identified as 27 year old Grayson Davis of Terrell, TX, was killed as a result of the collision.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Rockwall Police Department Traffic Division. We will update as we learn more.
