Hopkins County Accident Leads To The Arrest Of One

On Tuesday just before 8:00PM, The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Hwy 154 South, near CR 1184, for a reported motor vehicle accident.

Hopkins County EMS responded to check out the occupants who were involved in the accident. Both occupants declined EMS transport, as there were no serious injuries. SGT. Steward with Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, along with Deputy Foley were on scene.

After Texas DPS Trooper made the scene to work the accident, Deputies with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office offered the occupants of the vehicle a courtesy ride. As normal protocol, the deputies got consent from the individuals to search their purse, before the transport, for officer safety. During the consent search the Deputy located a green leafy substance rolled in a tobacco leaf, confirmed to be marijuana. Anne Marie Turner was placed into custody.

Turner was transported to the Hopkins County Detention Center. During the booking process, jailors located a clear baggie containing a crystal like substance confirmed to be Methaphetamine. After weighing the Meth, it weighed to 2.290 Grams.

Anne Marie Turner was booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center and charged with:

-POSS CS PG 1/1-B >=1G<4G

-POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

As of 5:00PM Wednesday evening, Turner remained booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center.
