Update: Michelle Denise Freudiger, according to Wood County SO Capt. Mike Chilson has been taken into custody and charged with the following:
- Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Freudiger was transported to the Wood County Detention Center. Her bond amount will be set on Wednesday morning.

At approximately 4:15pm today, Wood County Deputies responded to a shooting in the 2100 block of FM 312. Dispatch received information that a female subject had shot a male subject in the face.
Scanner traffic suggested dispatch got a call from a female subject stating she shot her husband in the face. Dispatched advised incoming units that family members were able to remove the weapon from the female caller, and the female was waiting outside for officers to make scene.
Upon arrival Deputies secured the scene and detained the female subject.
The victim was awake and coherent, with officers providing first aid to the victim before EMS arrival. A landing zone was initially going to be established at the scene, with the medical helicopter later being canceled.
The victim who has not been identified was transported by EMS, with Wood County Sheriff’s Office & Smith County Sheriff’s Office providing an escort for the Ambulance to a Tyler hospital for medical care.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the shooting is underway. The female suspect, who has not yet been identified, has been taken into custody on unknown charges at this time.
FM 312 is located just East of the Community of Oak Grove, Texas, running South out of Winnsboro. The residence shows to sit just South of FM 2088.
