Subject Loses His Life Thursday In An Early Morning Henderson County, Texas Accident

The Texas Department Of Public Safety released a statement if reference to a fatality accident, which occurred on FM 314 just outside of Brownsboro, Texas early Thursday morning.


EMS & Fire units were dispatched to the area of FM 314, just North of Brownsboro early Thursday morning, in reference to a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, units found a vehicle off in the tree line with major damage. The Department Of Public Safety was requested to the scene to investigate.

Preliminary investigation indicates that 30 year old, Travis Carl Lemmert, of Ben Wheeler, Texas was traveling south on FM 314, in a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. Early reports suggest Lemmert, approached a curve, at an unsafe speed, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree. The roads were wet at the time of the accident.

Trooper J. Sandoval- DPS Athens, investigated this accident. Justice Of The Peace Tony Duncan, was called to the scene where Lemmert was pronounced deceased at the accident location.

Facts of Accident:

This accident Happened just after 1:30 A.M. Thursday Morning. The road conditions were wet, with rain falling. The accident occurred on Farm to Market 314, one-tenth a mile north of Brownsboro, Texas. Below is the exact release sent out from Texas DPS.


Preliminary investigation indicates Vehicle 1 was traveling south on FM 314 approaching a curve. Vehicle 1 was traveling at an unsafe speed to safely negotiate a curve and wet roadway. Vehicle 1 left the roadway and struck a tree. This investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available.
