
TALTY, Texas — The authorities have made an announcement regarding the arrest of a suspect in relation to the unfortunate shooting incident that occurred during a pool party in Talty last week.
According to the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, on June 1, 2023, investigators spotted a black GMC SUV on U.S. Highway 175, which they believed to be carrying the suspected perpetrator of the fatal shooting that occurred on the same day.
The vehicle was subjected to a felony traffic stop by the officers from Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, Dallas Police Department, and Crandall Police Department. Upon inspection, the officers discovered 18-year-old Francisco Roberto Lozano, who is suspected of being involved in the shooting, leading to the death of a Quinlan resident. Following his arrest, Lozano was taken to the Kaufman County Jail and charged with capital murder. His bond has been set at $2 million.
ORIGINAL [June 1, 2023] — Law enforcement officials reported that a shooting occurred at an overnight pool party in Talty, resulting in fatalities.
On June 1, 2023, at around 2:30 a.m., the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting at the Winner’s Circle gated community located on Ruidoso Drive in Talty, Texas. Upon arrival, the deputies discovered that an adult male had been fatally shot, while another adult male sustained injuries.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the incident. According to their report, two unidentified male suspects fled the location before the deputies arrived on the scene.
As per the statement released by the sheriff’s office, investigators are currently interviewing witnesses who were present at the location during the shooting incident. According to a reliable law enforcement source, the overnight pool party was promoted on the internet, and people from various neighboring cities attended the event. During the celebration, a water gun fight began, and some attendees reported theft of their personal belongings, among other issues. These incidents might have triggered the shooting incident, but law enforcement officials have yet to confirm any such claims.
The deceased was identified as a 19-year-old Quinlan man Tyler Cummins. Continued prayers for all.
