Road Rage Incident On Interstate 30 Leads To The Arrest Of An Arkansas Man

Hopkins County Communications received a call about a road rage incident involving a person displaying a firearm on Interstate 30 eastbound, around the 127 mile marker, Tuesday afternoon. The caller provided details about the suspect vehicle, a white Ford F-150 displaying a paper tag.

The caller stayed on the line and kept updating their location. Hopkins County Deputies B. Murray & Z. Steward then conducted a stop on the vehicle that matched the description given by the caller. During the stop, the deputies found a handgun, which is believed to have been used in the crime.

As reported by the caller, the suspect identified as Mario Remonde Urquhart of Pine Bluff, Arkansas intentionally aimed the firearm at the caller, causing them to fear serious bodily harm or death. A records check revealed that Urquhart had confirmed warrants.

Mario Urquhart was placed in handcuffs and taken to the Hopkins County Jail. At the jail, the suspect was handed over to the jail staff without any issues.

Mario Remonde Urquhart was booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center on charges of:

1) AGG ASSLT W/DEADLY WEAPON
2) FAILURE TO MAINTAIN FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
3) DISPLAY EXPIRED MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION

Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon is typically considered a second-degree felony in Texas carrying a sentence of 2 to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. However, if the assault is committed against a public servant, or in retaliation against a witness, or as a family violence offense, it may be considered a first-degree felony, which can carry a sentence of 5 to 99 years or life in prison.

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty by the court of law.
