Reckless Driver Call Leads To The DWI Arrest Of One

At approximately 7:30 pm on July 4, 2023, officers from the Sulphur Springs Police Department spotted a vehicle driving recklessly in the 100 block of West Industrial.

The driver, Tommy Hutchings Jr, was approached by the officers and showed clear signs of intoxication, including the smell of alcohol, bloodshot and glassy eyes, and slurred speech. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted, leading the officers to determine that Hutchings had operated a motor vehicle while under the influence in a public area.
