High-Speed Pursuit in Hopkins County Ends with Arrests

Hopkins County, TX – A high-speed chase in Hopkins County unfolded on Highway 154 South on Friday night.

At 10:15 PM, Hopkins County units engaged in a pursuit of a vehicle traveling at speeds of 120 MPH on Highway 154 South.

Moments later, at 10:19 PM, the suspect executed a U-turn and headed back northbound on Highway 154, passing the Restlawn Cemetery as officers maintained pursuit.

To intercept the speeding vehicle, the Sulphur Springs Police Department prepared spike strips at the city limits, with updates confirming speeds remained steady at 120 MPH as the chase reached County Road 2174 at 10:21 PM.

The pursuit came to a dramatic conclusion at 10:23 PM, when the suspect’s vehicle spun out near the intersection of County Road 2560 and County Road 2174. Officers quickly moved in to make an arrest, deploying a taser to subdue the suspects.

By 10:25 PM, two suspects were in custody. Hopkins County EMS was dispatched shortly after, at 10:27 PM, to assess all individuals involved for any injuries.
