Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest in Sulphur Springs

Police traffic stop in Sulphur Springs leads to drug arrest, methamphetamine found during search

On Sunday, shortly after 1:00 PM, Sulphur Springs officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, the driver, identified as Jose Galvan, informed officers that he had a “pipe” in his sock commonly used for smoking methamphetamine.

A search of Galvan and his belongings revealed:
🔹 A pipe in his left sock.
🔹 A brown box containing a spoon with a crystal-like substance on it.
🔹 Two plastic baggies with suspected methamphetamine residue.
🔹 Two additional baggies with a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, weighing a combined 1.72g (with packaging).

Jose Galvan was arrested and transported to Hopkins County Jail, where he was booked on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B >=1G<4G.
