Man Arrested for Drug Paraphernalia and Outstanding Warrants


Hopkins County, TX – Authorities arrested Brian Leonard Ford, 56, of Sulphur Springs, on multiple charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a valid license.

The arrest occurred on January 17, 2025, at approximately 7:17 PM near the intersection of Putman Street and Lamar Street. According to the arrest affidavit, Officer Jackson from the Sulphur Springs Police Department initiated the stop for a traffic violation. During the encounter, Ford displayed signs of nervousness, prompting further investigation.

Upon consent to search the vehicle, officers discovered a “shooter” used to smoke narcotics and a used pipe commonly associated with methamphetamine use. Ford was taken into custody and transported to the Hopkins County Jail without incident.

In addition to the paraphernalia charge, authorities noted an active outstanding warrant for “No Driver’s License” in Hopkins County. Ford has since been released from custody.
