Sulphur Springs Woman Arrested Following Traffic Stop

Sulphur Springs, TX – On the evening of January 17, 2025, a traffic stop conducted on State Highway 19 North led to the arrest of 30-year-old Kimberly Nicole Kirk. Kirk is facing charges for alleged possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram), according to law enforcement records from Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.

The arresting officer noted observing the suspect’s vehicle traveling without a functional license plate light, prompting the traffic stop. During the interaction, the officer detected signs of nervousness and observed behaviors indicative of potential substance use. A subsequent search of Kirk’s belongings revealed a pill bottle containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Field testing confirmed the substance as methamphetamine, with a total weight of approximately 0.016 grams. Kirk was taken into custody and transported to the Hopkins County Jail. Her vehicle was impounded at the scene.

Kimberly Nicole Kirk was booked into the Hopkins County Detention Center on charges of “POSS CS PG 1/1-B <1G". She has since been released per booking reports.
