Traffic Stop Leads to Methamphetamine Arrest in Hopkins County

One Arrested In Hopkins County Traffic Stop

Hopkins County, TX — A 24-year-old woman, identified as Kaylei Michelle Rojo, was arrested on January 23, 2025, during a traffic stop near Hillcrest just north of Houston Street in Hopkins County. The arresting deputy reported finding methamphetamine in Rojo’s vehicle.

The arrest occurred after Deputies observed Rojo commit a traffic violation, citing an obstructed view from the windshield. Upon making contact with the driver, deputies learned that Rojo had two active warrants for her arrest. She was taken into custody on the warrants.

During a vehicle search, officers discovered two baggies containing suspected methamphetamine. The methamphetamine was weighed and found to total 1.62 grams, including packaging. Rojo was subsequently transported to the Hopkins County Jail and booked on charges of POSS CS PG 1/1-B >=1G<4G, Rojo was also booked in on the outstanding warrant of: CPF SPEEDING >10% ABOVE POSTED LIMIT & FAIL TO MAINTAIN FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office emphasized their commitment to addressing drug-related activity in the area and urged the public to remain vigilant in reporting suspicious behavior.
