Incident 1: Criminal Trespass Arrest
Date: January 30, 2025
Details: The department received a complaint in the 3800 block of Lamar of a Criminal Trespass. Officers located Jonathan Shannon Howard (42) of Brookston leaving the area. A warrant check revealed that Howard was wanted on a warrant out of Lafayette, Arkansas, for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Felony. Howard was arrested and transported without incident.
Incident 2: Felon in Possession of a Firearm
Date: January 30, 2025
Details: An officer observed a subject known to him as Jaquavious Jashon Woods (22) of Paris in the 600 block of Bonham St. Woods had an outstanding warrant for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, a Felony. The warrant was the result of an investigation into a January 7, 2025, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Theft of Firearm originating from a Stolen Vehicle out of Oklahoma. Woods was arrested without incident, and additional evidence was recovered.
Incident 3: Found Property Notification
Date: January 30, 2025
Details: Officers received notification of found property. A container full of copper wire was located in the roadway in the SE portion of the city. The caller advised that a suspect was attempting to take the property away until she informed him that police had been called. The property, a sizeable amount of copper, was removed and transported to the Paris Police Department. Anyone owning the property may contact the department to identify and claim the property.
Additional Police Activity: Officers made 11 traffic stops, 4 adult arrests, and answered 86 calls for service during this reporting period.
