Yantis Woman Arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

HOPKINS COUNTY, TX — February 3, 2025: Jodie Dawn Scott-Smith, a 40-year-old woman from Yantis, was arrested in Sulphur Springs for possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop.

According to the affidavit, Scott-Smith was pulled over near Walmart in Sulphur Springs for a vehicle violation. During the stop, Sulphur Springs officers conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a used glass pipe containing burnt residue and a small clear capsule with a white powdery substance suspected to be methamphetamine. Scott-Smith admitted ownership of the items and was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Scott-Smith was transported to the Hopkins County Jail, and her vehicle was impounded. No additional details have been released at this time.
