
Tevin Tyrell Madison Arrested for Drug Possession and Child Endangerment in Sulphur Springs
SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX – On February 7, 2025, law enforcement in Sulphur Springs arrested 34-year-old Tevin Tyrell Madison following a pedestrian stop that led to the discovery of controlled substances and items linked to drug distribution near Travis Primary School.
According to the arrest report, Madison was walking against traffic on the wrong side of the road near the 700 block of Main Street. Officers approached Madison, checking the subject through Sulphur Springs Communications discovering the subject had a warrant, Upon taking Madison into custody, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from his person. Upon conducting a search, officers discovered a green leafy substance, multiple baggies of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, and other paraphernalia in Madison’s possession.
Among the items recovered were:
- A plastic container with marijuana
- A glass pipe containing burn residue
- Multiple Ziploc baggies commonly used for drug sales
- A digital scale and $20 cash
The substances were weighed and identified as approximately 4.3 grams of cocaine and 1.3 grams of methamphetamine. The location of the incident, less than 1,000 feet from Travis Primary School, resulted in enhanced charges due to its designation as a drug-free zone.
Madison was charged with possession of controlled substances, intent to distribute in a drug-free zone, and child endangerment. He was transported to the Hopkins County Jail and remains in custody. Bond amounts were set at $250,000 for the felony charges.
