Felony Traffic Stop Leads To The Arrest Of One In Hopkins County

HOPKINS COUNTY, TX – Law enforcement officials arrested Alexander Reyes Ramirez, 22, in connection with a stolen vehicle case in Hopkins County. Ramirez was taken into custody in the early hours of February 13, 2025, following a felony stop conducted by the Sulphur Springs Police Department.

Incident Overview

According to the Arrest Report, officers were notified of a vehicle recently stolen from Mount Pleasant, TX. Authorities tracked the vehicle’s movement through Sulphur Springs, where Officer Corley initiated surveillance.

At approximately 1:29 AM, the suspect’s vehicle was intercepted near WB I-30 & Mile Marker 122. Law enforcement verified that the license plate matched the reported stolen vehicle. The vehicle was then followed until backup units were in place to assist in the traffic stop, at which point officers conducted a felony traffic stop.

Upon stopping, Ramirez was taken into custody without incident and placed in double-locked handcuffs for transport. He was then booked into the Hopkins County Jail.

Alexander Reyes Ramirez faces charges of:

  • Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (UUMV) – State Jail Felony

Authorities confirmed the vehicle has been impounded as part of the ongoing investigation.
