Kevin Wayne Buchanan Arrested in Hopkins County

HOPKINS COUNTY, TX – Kevin Wayne Buchanan, a 50-year-old resident of Cumby, was taken into custody on February 12, 2025, after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of multiple outstanding warrants.

According to the arrest affidavit, at approximately 7:13 PM, a Sulphur Springs Officer conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Tahoe that was impeding traffic. The driver, identified as Kevin Wayne Buchanan, was informed of the reason for the stop. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered that Buchanan had multiple active warrants for his arrest.

Following standard procedure, Buchanan was placed in double-locked handcuffs, searched, and secured in a patrol vehicle. He was then transported to the Hopkins County Jail without further incident.
