Sulphur Springs, TX – A woman was taken into custody on February 16, 2025, for theft at a Walmart store in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Chandra Star Clemins, 46, was arrested by Sulphur Springs Police Department officers after allegedly failing to properly scan several items at the self-checkout.

According to the official police report, Clemins was observed by store security intentionally avoiding scanning certain items and placing them directly into shopping bags. Surveillance footage confirmed that Clemins had 12 unscanned items, totaling a pre-tax value of $100.22. She then proceeded to leave the store without paying for the merchandise.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Clemins and Walmart asset protection staff. After reviewing the surveillance footage, officers determined there was enough evidence to charge Clemins with theft of property valued between $100 – $750. She was placed under arrest, and transported to Hopkins County Jail.

Clemins is currently facing charges of Theft of Property > $100 < $750 (MB)
