Victor Hugo Coronado Arrested for Protective Order Violation & Drug Possession
February 22, 2025 – Hopkins County, TX – Law enforcement officers in Hopkins County arrested Victor Hugo Coronado, 24, after discovering he was in violation of an active protective order and in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Arrest Details
On the evening of February 20, 2025, Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to conduct a welfare check at a residence near Highway 19 South and CR 1182. Upon arrival, officers encountered Coronado inside the home with a female who Coronado was not allowed to be around due to a protective order.
Authorities soon discovered that Coronado had an active protective order issued by the Greenville Police Department, prohibiting him from being near the female. Deputies confirmed the order via email and immediately took Coronado into custody, placing him in double-locked handcuffs.
Search Leads to Drug Paraphernalia Discovery
Following the arrest, a probable cause search of the suspect’s vehicle was conducted by Corporal J. Foley. During the search, officers found a grinder typically used to break down marijuana and a small bag of a green leafy substance, suspected to be marijuana.
Charges and Legal Consequences
Victor Hugo Coronado was transported to the Hopkins County Jail, where he was booked on the following charges:
- Violation of a Protective Order (MA – Misdemeanor A)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (MC – Misdemeanor C)
Authorities are continuing their investigation. As of this report, Coronado has been released from detention.
