Incident 1: Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle
Date: February 21, 2025
Details: An officer traveling westbound in the 2200 block of NW Loop 286 was passed by a vehicle driving at an excessively high speed. The officer attempted a stop, but the driver accelerated in an attempt to evade. The officer pursued the vehicle to SW Loop 286 and Sage Trail, where the driver lost control and slid into a ditch. The driver, identified as Zykerian Jermond Richardson (17), was arrested and charged with **Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle, a Felony**. Richardson was transported to the Paris Police Department for booking. No injuries were reported.
Incident 2: Felony Theft
Date: February 23, 2025
Details: Paris Police responded to the 900 block of Clarksville regarding a theft. A male suspect was reported concealing stolen items in his pants before leaving the store without paying. Officers received a description of the suspect and his vehicle. A short time later, officers stopped a vehicle matching the description in the 500 block of E. Price. The driver, Darnell Mayfield (64), displayed a receipt, but officers located additional stolen items inside the vehicle, including meat products reported as stolen. It was determined that Mayfield had multiple prior theft convictions, and he was arrested for **Theft Under $2,500 with Two or More Prior Convictions, a Felony**.
Additional Police Activity: Officers made 71 traffic stops, 10 adult arrests, and answered 240 calls for service during this reporting period.
