CANTON, Texas – A major drug manufacturing facility in Van Zandt County was shut down following a large-scale operation conducted by local and federal law enforcement agencies on March 7, 2025.
The coordinated effort, led by the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Hunt County Deputies, resulted in the dismantling of a significant narcotics production site.
Authorities obtained a federal search warrant for the property, located north of Interstate 20. Given the potential hazards associated with drug manufacturing, law enforcement deployed both the Van Zandt County SWAT and DEA SWAT teams to ensure safe entry and security during the operation.
During the raid, officers arrested three individuals, who were taken into federal custody. However, their names and charges have not yet been released as the investigation is ongoing.
Van Zandt County Sheriff Kevin Bridger commended the effort, stating, “This is yet another example of the willingness of the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office to work with other agencies to ensure the safety of our citizens. We are grateful for our working relationships with our partner agencies and the progress we are making.”
While authorities have not disclosed details regarding the specific type or quantity of drugs seized, officials confirmed that the facility played a major role in the production and distribution of illegal substances in the region.
The investigation remains active, and law enforcement encourages community members to report any information related to drug activity.
This is a developing story. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
