Motorcyclist Arrested for Reckless Driving in Cumby, Texas

CUMBY, Texas – Authorities in Cumby, Texas, arrested a motorcyclist for reckless driving after he was caught speeding at 123 mph in a 75 mph zone.

On March 16, 2025, Cumby PD officers were monitoring traffic near mile marker 112 on Interstate 30 eastbound observed a motorcyclist traveling at excessive speeds. Using stationary radar, officers confirmed the motorcycle, a red Honda CBR motorcycle, was moving at 123 mph.

Officers activated emergency lights and sirens and attempted to stop the motorcycle, but the rider continued to accelerate, weaving through traffic. The chase continued at speeds reaching up to 145 mph before officers were able to identify and detain the rider at mile marker 126.

The suspect, identified as Bradley Brown, 39, of Grand Prairie, Texas, was taken into custody for reckless driving. Brown initially denied traveling at high speeds, but radar evidence confirmed his speed. Due to his dangerous driving behavior, officers determined he was a risk to public safety and placed him under arrest.

Brown was transported to the Hopkins County Jail and booked without further incident. His motorcycle was impounded by Benson Bros Towing.

The Cumby Police Department remind drivers to obey traffic laws and avoid reckless behaviors that endanger lives.
