Interstate 30 Traffic Stop in Hopkins County Leads to The Arrest Of Como Man

Como Man Arrested for DWI After High BAC in Hopkins County

HOPKINS COUNTY, Texas – A Como man is facing DWI charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 30 in Hopkins County led to his arrest with a blood alcohol concentration well over the legal limit.

According to a report by the Texas Department of Public Safety, 27-year-old Ramiro Hernandez Guerrero was pulled over on March 21, 2025, at approximately 8:41 p.m. near mile marker 116 on IH-30 Eastbound.

Cumby Police and Hopkins County Deputies conducted the stop and requested a Spanish translator to assist with communication. Officers noted an open alcohol container and visible signs of intoxication.

Guerrero reportedly admitted to drinking and agreed to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed. He also consented to a breath test, which revealed BAC readings of 0.188 and 0.175, both more than double the legal limit of 0.08.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Hopkins County Jail, where he was formally booked on charges of DWI 1st Offense, BAC ≥ 0.15. His vehicle, was impounded by Benson Brothers.
