Authorities in Hopkins County have arrested a 34-year-old Sulphur Springs man following a hit-and-run incident that occurred on March 27, 2025. The arrest comes after a thorough investigation that began when deputies responded to a crash involving vehicle damage near the 500 block of Main Street.
Deputies at the scene discovered that the suspect’s vehicle had left without providing the required information. Notably, the vehicle’s bumper—containing a license plate—was left behind, providing law enforcement with a critical lead.

The damage estimate to the victim’s vehicle was more than $200. Crayton has been charged in connection with the crash and is currently awaiting further legal proceedings.
