On the evening of April 7, 2025, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop in Sulphur Springs after observing a white Hyundai Elantra with a defective license plate light.
The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Wildcat Way and South Broadway Street. Deputies identified the driver as 47-year-old Andre Montez Hare of Pittsburg, Texas. A background records check revealed that Hare had outstanding warrants from the state of Oklahoma, specifically out of McCurtain County.
Upon confirmation of the active warrants, Hare was placed into custody without incident and secured in a marked patrol unit. An on-call wrecker was dispatched to tow the suspect’s vehicle from the scene.
Hare was then transported to the Hopkins County Jail, where he was booked in on the outstanding Oklahoma warrants. Charges listed on the arrest record include Domestic Assault and Battery by Strangulation, as well as Domestic Assault and Battery in the Presence of a Minor. Bond was set at $50,000 for each charge.
