On April 12, 2025, at approximately 6:26 p.m., Hunt County Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance involving a weapon near Exit 101 on Interstate 30 Eastbound in Campbell, Texas.
A caller advised dispatch that a subject was on the side of the roadway allegedly pointing a firearm at another individual. Shortly thereafter, authorities confirmed the incident was related to a rollover accident with an ejection. Hunt County EMS, Campbell Fire Department, and South Hunt County Rescue were dispatched to the scene, with emergency crews staging until law enforcement secured the area.
The suspect, reportedly driving a 2024 black Ford F-250, fled the scene eastbound on I-30 and exited in the direction of Commerce. The truck was found to be registered to a business in Royse City.
First responders arrived to find a single vehicle with major rollover damage in the center median near mile marker 98.
Hunt County officials have not yet confirmed the number of injuries resulting from the crash or whether any arrests have been made related to the disturbance. The incident remains under active investigation, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
At approximately 7:44 p.m., a Hunt County Deputy located and pulled over the suspect vehicle on the I-30 service road near mile marker 85. The deputy identified the driver and recovered a .22 caliber Derringer pistol from the scene. Texas DPS was requested to assist with further investigation.
