SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX — A convenience store clerk working in Sulphur Springs has been arrested after selling alcohol to an underage customer, according to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest occurred on April 17, 2025, at a store located at 208 College Street. The suspect, identified as Rupa Goli, 27, of Commerce, Texas, was the clerk that sold the alcohol to the minor, per police report.

Authorities were alerted after a minor purchased an alcoholic beverage. Deputies obtained a store receipt showing proof of the purchase and responded to the location. After making contact with Goli, she reportedly admitted to selling the beverage to the underage buyer.

Deputies placed Goli into custody without incident. She was transported to the Hopkins County Jail and charged with Sale of Alcohol to a Minor under Texas law section 106.03.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reminds store clerks and employees that selling alcohol to anyone under the legal drinking age is a criminal offense and will be strictly enforced.
