SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX — A traffic stop on April 16, 2025, in Sulphur Springs has led to the arrest of one woman for drug paraphernalia and a man for outstanding warrants.
According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound on South Broadway Street after observing the vehicle’s registration was expired. Officers made contact with 40-year-old Kyle Daniel Goggans and Brittany McDonald.
During the stop, officers noted McDonald was visibly nervous and not maintaining eye contact. Deputies were granted permission to search the vehicle. Inside, they discovered burnt marijuana, a glass container with a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, and a digital scale with suspected drug residue.
Goggans was confirmed to have active warrants and was taken into custody on that basis. McDonald was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to Hopkins County Jail.
This arrest emphasizes the impact of routine traffic enforcement in identifying both minor and major offenses.
