HOPKINS COUNTY, TX — Two men were arrested following a late-night traffic stop in the area of County Road 2300 and CR 2301 in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
At approximately 10:08 PM on April 17, 2025, deputies with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle fail to signal before making a right-hand turn. The traffic violation prompted law enforcement to initiate a stop.
The driver was identified as Torres Martin Gomez, 40, of Sulphur Springs. He was arrested and charged with Failure to Signal Intent to Turn.
The passenger, Juan Martin Gomez-Torres, 30, also of Sulphur Springs, appeared visibly intoxicated. According to the report, deputies deemed him a danger to himself or others and placed him under arrest for Public Intoxication.
Both men were taken into custody and transported to the Hopkins County Jail. The vehicle, a 2020 GMC Sierra pickup truck, was impounded by Benson Brothers. No further charges were reported at the time of the incident.
