HOPKINS COUNTY, TX (April 21, 2025) – A man from Garland, Texas, was arrested in Sulphur Springs after a domestic violence incident led officers to a disturbance call at an apartment on Fuller Street.
According to police records, 30-year-old Demetrius Deandre Wilkins was taken into custody at approximately 8:13 P.M. after officers responded to a report of a rolling disturbance. The victim alleged Wilkins had choked her and struck her in the face with a closed fist, placing her in fear for her life. Officers confirmed the pair had been in a relationship for approximately two years.
Upon making contact with Wilkins, officers immediately detained him in double-locked handcuffs. The victim also requested a protective order. Following the arrest, Wilkins was transported to the Hopkins County Jail where he was booked on a charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury – Family Violence.
The charge is classified as a Class A Misdemeanor. No bond information was available at the time of the report.
