Pennsylvania Female Arrested in Hopkins County on Meth Charges


HOPKINS COUNTY, TX – A traffic stop on Friday, April 19, 2025, resulted in the arrest of 44-year-old Jamie Lynn Russell of Dawson, Pennsylvania, after Sulphur Springs officers discovered suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle.


According to the arrest affidavit, the vehicle Russell was driving was pulled over around 12:57 PM on Interstate 30 Eastbound near Mile Marker 127 for expired registration. Officer E. Jaime of SSPD made contact with Russell and conducted a probable cause search of the red Chevrolet Malibu after noting inconsistencies in Russell’s behavior.


During the search, officers discovered two separate clear plastic baggies containing a white crystal substance underneath the front passenger seat. Field testing confirmed the substance to be methamphetamine, with a total combined weight of approximately 3.25 grams including packaging. Additional drug paraphernalia was also located within the vehicle.


Russell was taken into custody, placed in double-locked handcuffs, and transported to the Hopkins County Jail without further incident. She now faces charges for:


  • Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B <1G >=4G (F3)
